From The Artists
“Years ago, while walking through an antique store, my eye was caught by an unusual object - an 8" cube of interconnected squares. To this day, nobody is sure what it was exactly, or what it was intended to represent, but this funny little trinket inspired me to share my discovery with Gary. As we began experimenting with similar shapes and circles, it reminded me of my past in mathematical drafting and formulaic engineering.”
-Angelique Jackson, Luminux
“Once this sculpture was named TimeSquare, it motivated me to think back to my years living in New York. As New York was to me, in those days and always, the art represents the chaotic grid-like structure of the city. The building block streets, the gridwork of getting from point A to point B. But amid all that chaos and structure is the beauty of so many cultures and colors converging. Art is everywhere, even in the most unexpected places. And like the actual location in New York, Times Square is the most obvious and identifiable location in New York where amazing art happens every day.”
-Gary Bannister, Luminux

What Our Clients Say
“We selected [Luminux] for their expertise in large-scale suspended works and their ability to translate architectural intent into sculptural form. Their concept captured the spirit of the building while introducing movement, lightness, and visual energy to the space.”
- Wendy Cerkovnik, Director of Campus Design at The City of Refuge
“Luminux’s ‘Eclipse’ was perfect for this design as it was not just something to fill space but something that could really hold its own in that area. The [Luminux] artists were really great, we were able to send over some concept images and pinpoint custom colors out of those and integrate that into the sculpture. Even getting renderings to show the space, and sample pieces to make sure the size, textures, and colors were what we wanted were both really easy and seamless processes.”
- Alex Vaughn, Senior Designer at Uncommon Studios
“Working closely with the artist and project team, the installation was developed to respond to the scale and openness of the lobby, activating the vertical volume and drawing the eye upward. The process required thoughtful coordination between design, engineering, and construction teams to ensure the piece was both visually impactful and seamlessly integrated into the architecture.”
